Hi Folks,

still waiting for real, live sessions to restart here in Scotland so in the mean time I've tried to record a few tunes. This one is a really popular trad tune who's origins are claimed by Ireland, England and Scotland (maybe Wales too). It appears in a Scottish tunebook from the early 1800s.

Thanks
Allan

Very nice indeed. Which tunebook is it in?

Well done for sure. I’ve never heard that name for the tune. Usually called “The Cuckoo’s Nest.” It’s Scots and older versions have lyrics. Mostly played in the U.S. at faster tempos.

Great tune! I really enjoyed your whistle playing. Have to try it myself!
