Last week temps were in the single digits. Today it’s 61 deg f as I type his. It’s supposed to stay in the 50s the rest of the week.
We were below 0*F for about 8 or 9 days, now we’ve climbed up into the high 30’s, low 40’s. Outdoors jamming just around the corner......, well, maybe another 5 weeks.

Edit: The "chinook" has reached MB [above freezing yesterday and trying real hard today] .... and indeed it is a welcome change ..... even for those of us for whom jam is something to put onto toast or into a PB&J sandwich.
Edit #2: Birtle is no more.... relax, now ... just the jam... the village is still there. A couple that was instrumental in organizing it moved to Wpg. and nobody stepped up to fill the void.

I got up shortly after 4:00 a.m. to put out the garbage. Of course, that involved clearing the driveway and walk of heavy, wet snow before dealing with the garbage. Hint: When the plough comes by, deal with it right away.
