As I recall...
There were a lot of concerned folks..
As well as media folks...
Warning that that event was going to be a Covid Super Spreader..

Its been a few weeks now...
N ..it seems to me that the cases have been deminishing...
Since the testing paramiters...(cycles of testing)..have been about cut in half..

Now I'll admit to not being the sharpest tool in the shed...

But..do you think the changing of the test parameters has made the differance...
Or....
Was it all the alcohol...that was consumed...at that event...that is killin off the virus.?

I'm hopin fer the latter.....

Cose...when this is all finally sorted out....

The latter would be good news.

Only if the beer was 60% strength and they used it for hand and surface washing rather than consuming it.

I think Mr. Coase said something of relevance:  "This is defined as “data- torturing” in the words of Ronald H. Coase. Let it measure what is required of it and provide the result therein and not the result you wish to see. “Numbers are like people, if you torture them long enough, they’ll say whatever you want them to.”

As with most things, there are a lot of variables. 0% of the population was vaccinated at Thanksgiving and Christmas, so the only immunity was from previously infected people - which is nothing to sneeze at. According to the CDC, more than 39 million people had been vaccinated by Feb. 16. Add to that the 29 million or so people who have contracted the disease and we have almost 70,000,000 people with some level of immunity. We are quickly rising to a level of herd immunity that should see numbers dropping quickly. This rise in immunity has fallen right in with the timing of the Super Bowl. So the question is, is there a spike, but it is not noticeable because the infection rate is dropping due to immunity, or was there no spike? If we assume the first scenario, then it means the numbers would have dropped a lot more if it weren't for the Super Bowl. Since we saw clear spikes after Thanksgiving and Christmas, when there was no vaccine available, I suspect that this is the case, but there is no way to be sure. Whatever it is, I'm glad to see the numbers dropping while it is still winter.
