So.....Does this now mean that you can not discriminate at all ?.... So....does that mean a woman's sign on a toilet door is now illegal ? A man can play in a woman's sports team and vice versa ? A male can wear woman's uniform ?....
Sounds like a huge can of worms just got opened....

Well...that's a relief...Just shows you how much BS that you read in the media.
Fake news?
The WSJ reference is probably passed along disinformation, probably skimmed/misread at best; and tracing back to a guest "opinion" piece.
Probably in reference to recent executive action about anti discrimination policies. "Laws" are passed by Congress. The anti-discrimination laws are not new.
Fact check claims rather than spread disinformation. Most of the BS comes from those who follow and disseminate disinformation... often via social media.

As a sassenach I've only ever worn a kilt the once, with the blessings of my hosts at a Hogmanay ceilidh - a vey strange sensation it is too!
boys can not compete in girls sports events (yet), but transgenders can. besides you may choose to declare your gender, and that will be that, in public schools. Or so, that is being argued. We will see. Perhaps they will make the boys/men wear weighted outfits. Seems there was another sport that did that. Brad

This discussion is 100% political.
But here is the actual order.
whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/p...entation/
"Every person should be treated with respect and dignity and should be able to live without fear, no matter who they are or whom they love. Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports. Adults should be able to earn a living and pursue a vocation knowing that they will not be fired, demoted, or mistreated because of whom they go home to or because how they dress does not conform to sex-based stereotypes. People should be able to access healthcare and secure a roof over their heads without being subjected to sex discrimination. All persons should receive equal treatment under the law, no matter their gender identity or sexual orientation."
How could anyone get mad about that?

I ratha like the way Joel has laid this out..
As I agree..
But I am skeptical on how the fairness will be implamented...
I'm very skeptical of any legislation that is written seemingly intentionally to be as vague and potentially far reaching as possible. Good legislation needs to be precise and ask fewer questions than it answers.
For instance, it talks about denying students access to "the restroom, the locker room, or school sports", which is incredibly disingenuous, since none of those things have were previously denied to anybody... yes they were segregated by sex, for good reason, but of course this good reason is omitted in favour of self congratulatory ideology.

Don't forget governments and other parties that provide false information the press. The press does not "follow up" on claims, it just repeats them to the public. It is probably costs less than employing investigative reporters. This practice is nothing new though. History books are bull of lies. Many of our opinions on historical events are inaccurate and/or base on incomplete information. Parties are condemned by one generation, and lauded by the same public later on.
A TV documentary says not country on the planet could have beaten the Roman Army when it was at is "peak". Did Asia rise from the ocean after the Roman Empire ? When invasions came from Asia, Europeans were in trouble. That "invincible" Roman Army lost 3 Legions to the Barbarians in one Battle. A Roman Legion invading Parthia was destroyed.

Why was all this stuff not already in place in the land of the free ? why does any free nation need to legislate about these freedoms ?

Perhaps because these spurious notions of gender have only newly been cast onto the national consciousness and the populace has not yet been
forcibly re-educated. Soon actual biological females may look back wistfully on the by-gone era of women's athletics.
if you were born with the ability to carry and give birth to a child you are female
if you were born with a wagger you are a male.
putting a dress and make up on a male don't make you a female
putting on bib overalls and a flannel shirt on a female won't make you a man
how come has it got to be so complicated ?

The actions of BHO Moderators and tacit approval by the BHO Adminstrator make it very clear: Discussion of politics is allowed on BHO, as long as you support so-called "conservative" policies in your speech.
(NOTE: "Conservative" in this statement is the American Neocon definition of conservative and has nothing to do with limited government authority typically ascribed to the "conservative" label)
