I sent Eric my Iida banjo for a rim swap and I couldn't be happier with how it came out. Eric put a TPF block rim in it (The first of its kind for his shop) and he did an awesome job. He also did a heel set to make sure the action was exactly where I wanted to be, without my previous shim, and made sure there was no contact between the fretboard and the tension hoop. He also changed the neck studs to Mastertone spacing to make any future mods all that much easier.
The tone ring fit was perfect. Nice slip fit with contact all the way around on the inside lip.
I am not a very good banjo player yet but it sure sounds better to my ears. I just wish I could play it better to give Eric some better feedback about the sound. Hopefully I can make a video soon enough that will do it justice so you all can hear how it sounds.
Everything is exactly how I want it now though and it should be a long time before I "need" any more banjo.
If you ever have a chance to send Eric a banjo for work, don't hesitate. He does super work
Thanks Eric and Marsha
Jeff
