Does anybody make amber or amber-looking truss rod covers? I have Ron Barnes (RIP) amber tuning buttons on 2 banjos and I thought it would be nice to have an amber truss rod cover. I have seen some "sort of" replicas but not what I was looking for. Any ideas? Thanks!
You can buy some "tortoise" heavy pickguard material and make one.
Gold Mother of Pearl shell should give you the tone you are looking for.

Bryan England at Custom Inlay might be able to make one that is close in appearance to your tuner buttons.
Another option is to take a pearl truss rod cover and spray it with Vintage Amber lacquer. I have actually done that and it turned out well. It had a nice aged appearance to it but I was not trying to match the color of other parts at the time.

If you have Amber buttons, then I thought acrylics would be better than stained glass andshell
