Greetings: I'm wanting to use Fiebings Dye to approximate the sunburst on a Granada resonator. Can anyone with experience using Fiebings Dye guide me to the color choices to use? How about a tobacco sunburst? I'm looking at this type dye as they come in smaller quantity containers and are cheaper than the StewMac dyes. Thanks for any assistance and guidance!! Shawn
Shawn, I use Feibings Leather Dye alcohol version. It's easy to use and works well. You can mix it with clear methylated spirits, which is very similar to denatured alcohol in the US, I believe. This allows you to build up the intensity of the colour gradually. I've never done a sunburst but if I was going to, I'd do a testbed first to perfect the technique and get rid of any Gotch Ya's. Feibings isn't cheap but it is quality. Good luck...
