Hi all,
Can anyone help please? I have downloaded the TEFVIEW app on my iPhone, but I can’t work out how to get the TablEdit file from the Hangout tab list over to TEFVIEW. If I just press the link, nothing happens. Same with “copy” or “save to files”. Whilst I’m on the subject of learning, I thought it was just me who is struggling to learn Scruggs style. But try looking down the list of tabs at the ‘difficulty’ rating... not many are classed as ‘beginner’!!! Grrrr!!!! .... Never mind - Carry on!!!
Under the "Learn" tab on the left side of the page, I did an advanced search. Checked "bluegrass" for genre, "Bluegrass/Scruggs" for playing style, and "beginner" for difficulty. Got a long list of BG songs played with Scruggs style, a much shorter list when I changed genre to "popular". Can't help you with the downloading problem, other than I've not had a problem in the past downloading tab to my Android phone and to a computer.

my advice (for what its worth. listen to a lot of old original bluegrass music. especially Flatt and Scruggs recordings. then stay away from tab at first and just practice rolls, chords,, pinkey stretches , chord changes...song structures.....and pure basics. You have to know inside and out what they are doing before you can hope to do it. IMHO
If it’s any comfort to you I used to play banjo in what I suppose is called folk or old time style after learning from Pete Seeger’s book, that was 50 years ago and I played pretty well.
Since lockdown I’ve picked up the banjo again and after getting the old bum ditty going okay, thought I’d get some bluegrass down and I’m finding it tough going, but as Jesse suggested, I started to give Jim Pankey’s video lessons a go and it’s working!
Just got to practice, practice, practice now and I’ll get some Earl tunes down if it kills me!
