Hi. I'm looking for opinions of the Gold Tone White Ladye Short Scale model (WL250SS)? I've seen one for sale (used) and was wondering if it would be a good buy if I could get it for a good price?

The WL250 is a decent banjo so the there are two questions.

Do you want a short scale banjo? The fact that it is short scale might mean less interest and a better price. But you should only buy if the you really want one or would quite like one and the price stays low.

How will you pick it up? It's a long way from York to London and I don't think picking up banjos is included as an essential journey in the current guidelines.

I'm thinking more of a good opportunity if the price stays low, and it would be nice (thinking ahead) for the jams where most of the tunes are in D or A. It sounds like you know the one I'm talking about - collection is a problem, but if it was cheap enough, I could probably arrange someone to pick it up and keep hold of it for me.

Sounds like a good enough reason to me. I do know the one you're talking about. The fact that it's collection only might help keep the price down.

I've always thought that a short-scale whyte laydie is pretty much the ultimate banjo for old-time jams that stick in A/D.
