I just clicked on the button for the lesson from Tom Collins and my computer was immediately locked up with a virus that said I had to call this toll free # within 180 seconds or it would erase all the data on my computer. You might want to check this out before someone else gets hit. Thanks Frank
Frank, how did you recover?
I held down the power button until it shut down and then rebooted. It took several attempts but it finally rebooted. I then opened my antivirus and did a scan and all is well. I wasn't going to call those thieves and give them any money. I hope you didn't get hit!
I got hacked one time and my computer guru told me to disconnect from the internet completely, shut down the computer, wait a few minutes and the bring it back up then you can reconnect to the internet and it should be okay. From the way he explained it, once you disconnect from the internet, they can't get to your computer.
