I have watched ukelele players on Youtube. Doing this increased my respect for the ukulele, and made me realizes its potential. In a biographic video Alan Shelton talked about watching a ukelele group play before his his group was scheduled to perform on radio. The ukelele group played inventive enjoyable versions of different types of music. Doing that inspired him to play different types of music on the banjo.
