What are the most essential free VST effects for bluegrass? I wanna get that sound similar to those of The Lonesome River Band, The Boxcars, Sideline, Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers, etc.
If they aren't free, then go ahead and suggest anyway.

First a caveat: My exploration into audio recording and editing is confined to some limited use of the (free) program Audacity.
I had to look up what VST effects were and from what I read this could be one of those "down the rabbit hole" scenarios. I'm thinking that I might ask what are the most essential VST effects to record and produce bluegrass music. That's all I got.....sorry.
And, as I recall, you are a college student. Is is possible that there is a music department at your school and someone there that might be able to help you.

Not sure what DAW you are using but Reaper comes with several good effects, compressor, reverb, delays, etc. There are tons of good free ones out there too.
