My wife has spent the last three years playing the Banjo. She recently purchased the Gold Tone CEB-5 Cello Banjo.
She loves it, but her one complaint is that the strings that came with it are a little buzzy. She feels like the string sound is overpowering some of the lower tones. I want to get her some replacement strings to experiment with as a gift, and was looking for some recommendations.
Thanks so much for any recommendations!
I had the same problem with my CEB-5 when I first got it. I replaced the strings with flat wound strings, and that resolved the issue for me
The flat wounds I use are .024w, .032w, .042w, .052w, .024w, D'Addario flat-wound ECG25 XL Chrome lights. I believe I had to purchase and extra .024w, as there was only one in the ECG25 XL set. Just Strings has them, and the single strings.
Thank you! I will give those a try.
