Hey folks,
I was researching Whyte Laydies and came across this video. What style is he playing in the first 40 seconds of this video? I've heard it before but would love to know more about what it is and how to play it.

Looks to me llke Seeger-stylle up-picking with a few clawhammer strokes and single-string picked notes thrown in.
