I need an airplane worthy case for the deering junior I bought. I’m traveling with 3 kids for a month, so finding a case that is small like the banjo, lightweight and possibly even back strap option would be ideal. Any ideas? Leaving Friday and my own search is becoming a time suck.

The Deering site says the junior is a short scale version of the "regular" Goodtime, and at the bottom of the page they direct you to a page for a gig bag, which is one designed for a tenor. So, I'm thinking a hard shell case for a open back tenor banjo would fit your needs - maybe? I'm not sure of lightweight AND backpackable AND airplane worthy is doable. But somebody here on the HO probably has done something like this. You might change the title of the thread to something like "Case needed for Deering Junior" as that might get more reads.
