Some calypso flavored song about- - -

"Myra, Myra,

Many boats in the harbor

Got to go downtown,

Make a hundred dollars!"

What's the next line?

Tried looking it up online, and the [EXPLETIVE DELETED] search engine thinks I'm horribly mistaken, and what I REALLY meant to spell was EITHER "they call the wind MARIAH" or "MTA".

Got to be at least ONE of you has that record and/or remembers the lyrics.

This The Seekers version.

Myra, Myra, many boats in the harbour;
Gonna go down south and make many fast dollar,
And shake up the party, shake up the party;
Oh, Myra, Myra, many boats in the harbour;
Gonna go down south and make many fast dollar,
And shake up the party, shake up the party.
Myra, go down to the harbour;
I tell you, Myra, go down to the harbour;
Won't you hear me, Myra, go down to the harbour,
'Cause the big white ship pulled in today.
(Chorus)
I no time to see Myra today;
I tell you, no time to see Myra today;
I no time to see Myra today;
'Cause the big white ship, she sail away.
(Chorus)

Thanks!

Maybe it was the SEEKERS, not the Trio.

My memory was telling me that the next line was

"Shake up your body!"

as if she was some kind of a whorstitute.

Couldn't imagine that being n the ordinary records sold to Our Nation's Youths, back in the 1963's.

The Kingston Trio never recorded that one. I have a complete set of their albums on CD which my wife and listen to on every car trip. That one ain't there.

"Shake up your body!"

Harry Belafonte has that line in a few of his calypso songs.

Further along the “Shake” theme - Mississippi John Hurt, “Shake That Thing”

The Belefonte song was 'Jump in the line' or 'Shake Senora'
This song was in the movie Beetlejuice.

Shake, shake, shake, senora, shake your body line
Shake, shake, shake, senora, shake itall the time
Work, work, work, senora, work your body line
Work, work, work, senora, work itall the time

My girl's name is Senora
I tell you friends, I adore her
And when she dances, oh brother
She's a hurry-cane in all kinds of weather

(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-OK, I believe you
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-OK, I believe you
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-OK, I believe you
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-Whoa

Shake, shake, shake, senora, shake your body line-Whoa
Shake, shake, shake, senora, shake itall the time
Work, work, work, senora, work your body line
Work, work, work, senora, work itall the time

Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-OK, I believe you
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-Hoist those guns a leetle higher!
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-Humpin' jiminy
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-Whoa oh oh oh

Shake, shake, shake, senora
Shake your body line
Work, work, work, senora
Work itall the time
Dance, dance, dance, senora
Dance itall the time
Work, work, work, senora
Work itall the time

Senora dances calypso
Left to right is de tempo
And when she gets the sensation
She go up in the air
Come down in slow motion
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-OK, I believe you
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-Somebody, help me!
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-OK, I believe you
(Jump in de line, rock your body in time)-Whooooa
Shake, shake, shake, senora, shake your body line
Shake, shake, shake, senora, shake itall the time
Work, work, work, senora!
