Travis Roy, an inspiration to millions of people, passed away the other day. He was tragically paralyzed from the neck down after only 11 seconds in to his first shift as a highly touted young freshman for the Boston University hockey team. Travis always showed a positive outlook on life and fought hard to live a life that showed his toughness, character, and goodwill. His charities raised millions and his story will always be remembered. He spent his life after the accident to helping others with spinal cord injuries and funding research. "Courage, class, patience, and grace" were terms often used to describe Travis (from THIS LINK TO HIS OBITUARY). Please consider donating to the Travis Roy Foundation.
Travis was evidently a man who turned his personal tragedy into good work for others.
That is a remarkable and admirable legacy.
RIP Travis. You did yourself proud.
I’d never heard of Travis until I read the obituary above - what a guy!
