I've been trying to work this one out on my own but I can't do it. Maybe a simple version can't be done clawhammer on banjo?
Anyone found a version?
Thanks
Terry

Those popular songs are often difficult to play in easy clawhammer version without losing the flavor of the song. But with some drop thumb and alternate string pull offs it should be possible.  Here is an illustration how the first 12 measures can be played.

Ha,
Meaning your Tab was very nice. Mine will do too....J   p.s. those open descending harmonies were tricky at first. Chet was so brilliant...J

Nice tab! I bought the LP album (Down Home) some time in the late 60's or early 70's. Here is Chet's version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=und7BayvmKo

Thanks Jan,

This tune came from a Movie and I can't remember which one. I do know that Chet put his touch on the tune and it came out great of course...Those opening maj. 3rds and maj. 6 intervals are pretty harmonies...Jack

I added the full tab in the tab archive: https://www.banjohangout.org/tab/browse.asp?m=detail&v=24578 . It is not an easy clawhammer version, but it should be playable for an intermediate player.

Also watch Melina Mercouri from the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAh-RA6IjRQ

Nice Jan,
So that's where Chet probably got the tune from. It's perfect for Clawhammer bum ditty, bum ditty....Jack
