One of my alltime favorites, and another great loss in this terrible year. Keep ridin' high forever JJW, love you always.
NO! My mouth fell open when I read that Chuck. Jerry Jeff was one of my all time favs! I didn’t know that he had throat cancer....but I’m not suprised either....all those guys smoked like chimneys and drank hard. Sad news....but thanks for posting.
Throat cancer sounds like either booze or smokes or both. Either way, this is a good 'un that I remember fondly.
Geez! I was just watching a video of him, singing "I Feel Like Hank Williams Tonight" (which he didn't write, but nailed the performance). Last year I found a double CD edition of his A MAn Must Carry On album. He was an inspiration to so many performers and songwriters.
RIP. Say hello to Bojangles for us.
I was scanning the radio one day and stopped to hear someone singing Mr. Bojangles and I thought, "That's an interesting take on the song." only to find out when the song was finished it was JJW singing. Best rendition I ever heard. Listening to an artist sing their own tune brings out the feelings that they had when they wrote it. Walker was a great artist and a great story teller. Rest in Peace Jerry.
