The question is simple.I don't like the bulky look of the Shubb sliding capo. Is there a replica of this thing being made by any company out
there?

It may look "bulkier", but the Shubb sliding capo will serve you better.

Well, probably true. wire feels more vintage to me tho.

I had one many years ago and it never exerted enough downward pressure on the 5th string.

I have had a couple of recent (made in China apparently) ones and they were terrible. The bars were so thin the actually bowed under use. Nothing like the Japanese ones of the 70's.

I have one of those from the 70's. Not sure of it's origin. But if anyone is interested, make it worth my time & trouble to pack & ship it & it's yours.
