A well deserved tribute to the great Don Reno
That fixes a glaring omission!
I had assumed he was already a member. So many references to Scruggs and Reno roles in popularization of the 5 string. This sort of detracts from the credibility of the museum.
The American Banjo Museum is an awesome place to visit, but one should realize that in its early days the museum seemed to be focused more on four string and plectrum banjo than on the five-string banjo. Earl Scruggs was admitted in 2014. I do think taking six years to get to Don Reno is a long wait, but I'm not entirely sure how the nominating and voting process works. It is interesting to note that Don was inducted in the Historical category rather than performance.
