CALLING ALL BLUEGRASS WOODIE BUILDERS

I'm looking to experiment. I have built 2 woodies from hard maple, and have had excellent results from both. But I'm looking to obtain different sounds than what hard maple provides.

Those of you who have made woodies from different domestic woods other than hard maple, is there any way you could post sound files of these? I would love to hear them to compare different woods!

PS. I realize there will be a major difference in players/builders alone (strings, bridges, head tension, how hard they pick, etc), but I still think I can get a vague idea of what I'd like to try, so instead of buying 20 woods and find 15 of them unsuitable, maybe I can buy 12 and only find 3 unsuitable (sorta a weird outlook, but hopefully that made sense).

Tony Pass preferred birch. Recovered from the great lakes. Maple was too bright ,he told me once.
