**UPDATE**
Sullivan Banjo Co is back open following several days of no utilities and some damage.

Eric wanted me to post a thread here on BHO to let customers know that they are closed for the time being. Power has been off...water went off today.
Structural damage to the house and an automobile but everyone is fine. No serious damage to the banjo shop.

All orders will continue ASAP

I'll update as Eric lets me know.

Thanks for the update. I had been wondering how Eric and family may have been affected. My sister and her husband just moved to the Gulf Shores area into a new house. Early word is that they are without power and sharing a generator with a neighbor, but no serious damage to the house.

So sorry to see their bad luck after just moving. Eric is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful people I have ever dealt with. Please express our sympathy and hope for a smooth recovery.

Yikes!

And to think that my seeing a few branches down here in Lindsay (from the occasional severe storm), is “wind damage.”

Oh man. that looks rough. Glad they are all ok though. And thanks much for posting Jim and if you are talking to them, let them know they are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry to hear that they were affected by the hurricane, I hope they'll be able to get things sorted out without too much difficulty. It looks like a bad situation with that tree.

The tree can be used to build banjo necks, rims and resonators (if it’s the right kind of tree.)

A bad situation, yes, with the tree against the house, vs the ground.

Raw material (tree), fell on top of the finished product (house).

Trees are off, Water and electric back on. Eric says he's planning on getting back in the shop hopefully tomorrow.

Good news. thanks Jim.
The need a new model banjo called Hurricane or Sally (was that the name of the hurricane that just hit them?) The inlays would be originals.

Good job Marsha and Eric

Though the storm and its fury rage today
Crushing hope that we cherish so dear
The clouds and storm will in time pass away
And the sun again will shine bright and clear

Silly me! I have not needed any banjo supplies in a while. But, I noted that the head on my Stelling in the closet was mysteriously split. I consider this my backup instrument. So, without checking I jumped on the net and ordered a head and a spare. Then I noted that Sullivan was in Alabama, the storm zone, and also had posted a while back that they were having trouble getting REMOs. So, I said "too bad I won't be getting any heads soon".

WRONG my heads came pretty quick. I think the USPS had more trouble delivering them than Sullivan had filling the order. But that was only a weekend delay.

Thanks Sullivans. Stelling is now working and the spare is in the head box.
