Sad story today about a 47 year old Milwaukee police Captain who killed himself recently. He had always wanted to be a police officer like his grandfather.
Went in the Marines for 4 years and then MKE police.
He spent a lot of time trying to get housing for homeless people. ( and he worked the most problematic areas of town).
He said the morale of the police was so bad between the protests , the pandemic and the recent homicide rate here he couldn’t do it anymore.
His family said in place of flowers a donation to the Mke County Housing Division would have pleased him. He worked closely with them.
And the family again wanted to remind others to seek help if suicidal.
That is so sad, sorry to hear.
That is awful. He sounded like the kind of police officers we need. It is a very stressful (and thankless as of late) job.
Sorry to hear that. May he Rest In Peace.
I don't know how the police do it damned if they do damned if they don't. Hoping some good can come from such a tragedy Mike.Maybe it will shine a light on the fact that even though we citizens put our trust in someone with a responsibility greater than what I would want to take on,maybe the light will show that these public protectors of property and person are as human as you and I and expecting them to be superhuman maybe unreasonable.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
I found it odd that there was no mention of this on this morning's news, at least not here in New England.
very sad indeed,,, these guys have so much pressure on them right now...
prayers for his family and friends.
Tragic, for sure! For his family and his resting in peace, thank you for your service.
