Hi friends,

I want to invite all of you to my Zoom bluegrass/three-finger banjo workshop "Taking Your Playing to the Next Level" on Saturday, August 29th at 11 a.m. Pacific / 2 p.m. Eastern time. Click here for all of the info you need to join us.

This workshop is open to all players of all levels and it's interactive - I want to help you with your individual questions and problems as much as I possibly can. Pre-registration (but no pre-payment) is required in order to have the Zoom link and handout link sent to you via email. The suggested donation for this session is $25 but this is a "pay what you can" event. As our weeks of isolation turn into months, I want us to come together and celebrate the banjo and all become better players through this interactive workshop session. Peghead Nation is sponsoring this session but you do not have to be a Peghead student to participate.

Because we'll all be on Zoom, I'm looking forward to a more interactive type of workshop than what I did previously via Facebook Live. I invite your questions and topic requests now, before the session, and the Zoom format will allow you to ask questions during the session and you can even play for all of us. Click here to find out how to download Zoom and get ready for our session together (scroll to the bottom to get instructions on how to use Zoom - it's fun and easy!).

A recording of our entire session with high quality audio will be available to all participants soon after the workshop.

Here's a sampling of what I hope to cover:

Whether it’s surviving your first jam session, working up your own solos, playing songs up to speed, playing in different keys, getting away from tab, playing with a metronome or getting a professional sound, all banjo players face similar challenges on the road to becoming a great musician. In this workshop, I will discuss these and other topics as suggested by you. In addition to answering your questions, I'm looking forward to helping you to set personal goals that will take your playing to the next level. I hope you'll join me this Saturday for this new style of interactive workshop.

Questions? Send me an email to bill@billevansbanjo.com and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I hope that you'll consider joining us on Saturday and let's pick!

All the best,

Bill Evans

Hi again everybody,

This workshop is now available for everyone to view (and download handouts) for free by following this Peghead Nation link. We'll talk about everything from ear vs tab, developing great practice strategies, roadmaps for playing with more speed, playing with relaxation and much more. Spend some time (virtually) with me in my New Mexico home as we discuss how to keep moving forward and finding our joy in playing banjo. Thanks for checking it out!

All the best,

Bill Evans
