We have friend who emails us frequently from Eureka, Ca. Shes a great girl. In her emails, she uses words that are totally unnecessary . Cohesiveness?, convoluted ?, Efficacy ?, Shangri-la ? !
Then, on the rare chance we do see her, shes like: yo yo! Sup inna hizzy ? Flipping out on da home life? “ peace ow ! Talk normal. Write normal .

Great post. I wouldn’t doubt that “email girl” also trolls chat rooms using multiple accounts. While it’s certainly pathetic, I wouldn’t be too judgmental about her though. It could just be a personality disorder but worse case might be she needs mental health assistance

SOME chat sites have built-in "Cuss Filters" which put a row of asterisks where the kind of words I frequently use, would appear.

The filter is programmed to recongize certain strings of letter, which is why I was inspired to create an entire new word to described something which has been totally ruined:

"That  is totally  upfucculated!"

Please use it  as often as you can, so that its usage causes it to be entered into the New Words column, published annually by some famous  dictionary publisher.

Nothing big or obscure about those words. Maybe Shangri-La could be considered one as it is a proper noun used metaphorically in most context.

Kathy is her real name . Not a made up name from a tv series. Like , uh, Bolie Jackson. She excels in the mental heath field mr Bolie . Whether she treats herself, I couldn’t say. Are you searching for help? Email me if I can assist you.

Well, George Will is one of my word heroes. Not a column he's written that doesn't send me to the dictionary. I don't mind lookin' up highfalutin two-dollar words.

And he had me at "bloviating ignoramus" some years ago...

We have one poster here whose use of words is quite elegant and has an unparalleled vocabulary, but to the point it takes forever to dissect their thoughts.  The skill of communication is not what you say (write) but what the other person hears (reads).  I am perfectly honest in saying that no one on this website communicates more clearly tha Figmo, as I have NEVER not understood what his posts say and mean!

Sorry you were triggered. I'm sure all you have said is true (cough). I don't judge the hypocrisy of some sad people that keep joining forums, get banned, re-join under yet another name, troll other members, and spend all day every day online. Whatever works for you "connie". As I said...no judgement needed. Have a great weekend here!

I'm really satisfied to apply the descriptive term "upfucculated."
It's in the Gregorian dictionary.
It's a fair description of a lot of the help I've been given lately.

If the writer’s intent is to elucidate instead of obfuscate, they should compose their treatise using a vocabulary appropriate to the reading level of the audience.

Over here we have to put up with Will Self (if we want to). Sometimes he has interesting things to say but it's best to have a dictionary at the ready.

Will Self, the novelist, critic and broadcaster, has chiselled a successful career out of being a sesquipedalian. This, as Self noted in 2012, means "a lover of obscure words" and is brandished more often as an insult than a panegyric. Self's engorgement on verbiage is often accompanied by a concomitant commitment to berating dull language.
