So I’ve heard that the StewMac CNC necks just don’t fit mastertone style pots properly. Why? What are the fit issues? Is it the angle? Fill me in on them. Thanks.
A perfect fit requires that a pre-cut heel be fitted specifically to the pot you are using to ensure a proper neck angle, etc. The Stew Mac necks get very close most of the time but not always.

They're not cut on a CNC i dont believe. Actually i m pretty sure and the heel cut is completely wrong. It sets up as high on most pots As high as most necks should set with a fingerboard installed so it ends up setting about .150-.200 high on the pot. Now that's just a standard that ive seen
I have used several of them with no problems but I was building banjos, not trying to fit them on existing Mastertones.
