Ok all you PhDs And MDs a little help please. Which one is it. I've seen it spelled both ways.

Speach= words that we speak

Speech= actual act of speaking or giving a speech

Mine did the exact same thing. But I'm sure I've seen it spelled both ways.

No sir, you have seen an unjustified gross error in spelling. No such word "speach."

"Look that up in your Funk & Wagnalls." I hope you recall that phrase.
I own that particular dictionary. It's right beside me. I did look up "speach."
It isn't there.

The difference between them is that “speach” is misspelled while “speech” is not.

Agreed, "speach" isn't a word.  There are "speak" and "speech".

OK, let's all grab our banjos and SING!
=============================

Don't like my speaches,
Don't hearken to me!
Stay out of my earshot,
Let my speaching be!
And now you're gone,
But I'm not worried,
'Cause I'm speaching on top of the world!

Yeah, I've never heard "speach" before... I'm pretty sure its a misspelling.

If you do a search for "speach", it will come back with a definition for "speech", so that's how it's spelled correctly. I have never heard of the word speach, either. My English professor would have given my paper an "F" for misspelling the word.

I always thought speech was a soft peach.

A few years back a local tattoo shop painted something along the lines of "I stand for free speach!" on his front window...
Don't think I'll be getting any lettering done there.

I’ve never heard of speach either.

I believe speach is an obsolete version. Which makes it odd that it hasn't gotten into US English.

I remember seeing pictures of an old OLD edition of Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales", where the word for the farm thing was spelled PLOW, PLOUGH, and PLOCH, by the same author in the same story.

Back then, spelling had not been codified and standardized.

I've heard RUMOURS that, in spelling bees in BRITAIN, the child who spells things the APPROVED way is HONOURED with a prize made of ALUMINIUM in the shape of a U.

Some early spellings of the "k" phonic used the letter "q", I believe.We later replaced it with the letter "c".
Where did I see that?
