Howdy everyone! I cannot THANK YOU enough for the wonderful suggestions you gave me yesterday for a YouTube channel that would be new and exciting. I believe I have found the suggestions that interested me the most and I want your opinion. I believe I am going to go out and document local bluegrass pickers in my region so I can share their story with you. I'll ask them about their musical past, have them play or sing their own unique version of a tune, and simply document their stories before it is too late. Is this something that would interest you all???? I want your honest opinion because this will initially be a large undertaking for me. I will have to purchase new, and fairly expensive, equipment, do a bunch of trials to make sure it will work, and then set up the interviews themselves. If I am able to pull it off, would you all watch, share, and help me grow?? This channel will be to provide wholesome entertainment for you all and not to shove myself on people. I want to share these people's stories. I love bluegrass and would love to share my local talent with you all and present them to the world. I would also eventually do some other types of videos such as jams, covers, and things of that sort. However, this all depends on whether you all would care for such a channel. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
For obvious reasons, I think this is a great idea. Thank you for doing this. I will absolutely subscribe and share with my YouTube Premium account. You could also set up a Patreon to help cover some of your costs, if that is a concern.
If you want to grow the channel, I'd recommend posting each new video on reddit.com. There's a bluegrass group and a banjo group, and the young folks there absolutely love this type of thing.
I think it would be great
KCJones Thank you for the support! I believe I am going to go forward with it. It might be a bit before I can get everything up and running. I need to order some equipment and learn how to use it. My first video will probably be a little intro to the channel where I'll introduce myself and explain my mission. I appreciate all the suggestions and I won't forget my first main supporter!

I think this is a great idea!
Ive said for years that there is a plethora of history, wisdom,and knowledge among some of the hangout members that just dont get enough credit, simply because there not touring pros...everything that glitters isnt always gold!
Living down in the show me, you'll find plenty of un tapped good entertainment, especially in the central parts of the state,
Try to stay off the beaten paths...I think it will be a worth while project..
Love the concept, I'd subscribe.
This is an excellent project, & may be a modern iteration of what has been done for many decades in the field of Ethnomusicology, Folklore, & Musicology. (this project may also take some academic preparation to bring out the best in your interviews & exposition).
I will definitely subscribe, watch, and share. This is my second favorite of all of the suggestions! ;-}
I would absolutely watch and follow this! Before you start I would recommend watching a few videos on how to start a youtube channel though. Things like consistent uploads (even if it means you need a broader focus), or spending <$100 on some lighting so your shots look better helps a huge amount.
Similarly, you might be surprised how little equipment you need. If you have a smart phone you might not even need a camera, just a tripod. Maybe a mic to get better sound.
