The resonator and gray paint inside the pot are pretty clear signs.

maneckep - I agree with your I.D. Thanks.
A look at Polle Flaunoe's database indicates that these Bacon Banjo Co. Lyric banjos were made ca. 1930 thru 1934.
Somewhere along the line someone erroneously identified these Lyric banjos as Gretsch-made and the error proliferated.
I wonder if the Bacon Lyric banjos had a tone hoop like the Bacon Special line.
If so, they might be quite nice as an intermediate grade tenor banjo.

That Craigslist one is certainly a Bacon made banjo, and it does appear to have a tone hoop. I have seen one other, but there was no tone hoop and it had friction tuners instead of the geared models. I believe the specs may have changed as the depression got worse.
