I will be meeting with the owner of a local radio station soon to discuss the possibility of a regular bluegrass music program (likely a weekly program). If you listen to an over-the-air radio station that has a regular bluegrass program please give me as much info about the program as you can. Length of the program, format, does it include only traditional bluegrass, are interviews included, any live in studio music included, personality of the program host, etc. are some of the types of info I’d like to glean from those who are familiar with bluegrass radio programs.
I’d especially like to hear from anyone who is directly involved with these programs, either program hosts, sponsors, station engineers, and others who can provide insight into the programming.
If you have info that is too lengthy for a post, contact me through the Hangout and I’ll respond back so you can email me the info.
I certainly will appreciate all the info I can get.
The guy to talk to would be Jim Beaver. He can answer all these questions and more. Jim hosted bluegrass radio shows for years. He lives in Mt. Airy NC now. He’s on Facebook. If you can’t find him, Dick Bowden, aka, The Old Timer May have his contact info.
