Wondering If Anyone Knows If The Stelling Lifetime Warranty Is Transferable.?.

Never Mind.  It Is Not Transferable.

Buying used doesn't have to be "buyer beware", if you know what you're looking for. Or if you have knowledegable advisors. Don't be "too" skittish about used.

I would guess it's extremely unlikely the warranty is transferable. But, who knows?

You can PM Geoff and ask him, he's a member here. Go here: and PM and ask him. He's a very nice gentleman and I'm sure he'd be happy to let you know about warranty and if it's transferable.

I "think" it is. I bought a used Stelling many years ago and was told the warranty transferred. However, since Geoff wasn't the one who said it, it's better to get the correct information from the man himself.

All of my banjos that I have owned, in fact all of my instruments that I have ever owned have been used. Most for decades and some for over a hundred years.

Never had a problem.

All you have to do, as mentioned above, is be careful and check the instrument out before you buy.

Stellings are top quality, so unless the instrument was abused or damaged, you should have zero issues.

I bought a used Bellflower that ended up having a twisted neck
Geoff said he would fix it if I sent it down for a re fret. Cost $500.00
Did not send it

Good luck

The Stelling warranty card says limited to the "original purchaser."

There could be exceptions, of course.

Well that settles it.

In any case, in my admittedly short life and through all my purchases I've never used a warranty. I've always assumed they were marketing gimmick more than anything. Maybe I'm just lucky.

If it is a used banjo that has been around a few years what good would the warranty be anyway? I think warranty implies something was wrong when it was made, not that at some point in the future it will need work. If a banjo has been around a while, wouldn't any warranty covered issues have been discovered and dealt with already?

I can't imagine Geoff wouldn't still work on a Stelling banjo if it needed work if you paid the bill for the work.

The Stelling warrantee is not transferrable but I wouldn't worry about it.

Have the instrument checked out thoroughly. If there are no problems, it's highly unlikely that something will turn up down the road that would be covered by warranty.

Things like neck adjustments, new head or refrets wouldn't be covered anyway. For most minor issues I would have it serviced locally anyway and not risk shipping a banjo. Horror stories abound.

Jeff's customer service is outstanding. I bought my Golden Cross used and a couple of the tailpiece screws were bent. I reached out to Jeff and he sent replacements out no questions asked. I'm sure there are limits to his largess but he's a great guy making incredible instruments.

Y’all Act As If Im A Moron And s You’re All Einstein’s Lolol.

ComeOn read the post.
I’ve already had the question answered.

Non transferable.

As for the worth of a warranty..??..

Mr. Stelling Wouldn’t Have A lifetime Warranty If there weren’t A Viable Reason.

Same as Gibson and American Made Banjo...

It Was Just A question for information about a warranty...not a call to educate an old dog on your expertise about Banjos. I already knew those answers lol.
