The title says it all, I bought a Richelieu Golden Eagle 5 string. I started on a Univox/Kasuga and was surprised at how quickly I "outgrew" it.
Can't wait to get it next week! And I'm hoping that I can just not buy another banjo again. Nobody told me how expensive this hobby can be.
Just wait. Once BAS is fully developed, it attacks the wallet. The Richelieu is a good hand-made banjo. They never really made a big dent in the 5-string market, but Mr. Richelieu was fastidious in building his banjos.
I'm already on the fence about selling my Univox.
I had a Kasuga back in the 70's and I wish that I never sold it. It wasn't the best banjo around but it was the banjo that I got serious on. I got a Bacon back then and regrettably I don't even remember what I did with the Kasuga !!!
Just got this banjo, and it is beautiful. Getting it setup and playing it made me not want to part with my old Kasuga. I think BAS has begun.
