Seeing as those were going for at least $1200 (maybe $1400) new before they were discontinued, I'd say yes.

Also seeing as you can hardly find a used RK-35 for $800 any more, I'd say doubly yes.

If a) you need a banjo and b) you have $800 and c) you like the look, it's hard to go wrong — even if well played and needing a fret job.

I had one. Paid 800. It was a good banjo, good tone, played easy, stayed in tune. Only real issue I had was the binding was too thick and sometimes the 1st string would pop off the edge during slides, but that may have been my poor technique more than the banjo.

I traded it in when I bought my Stelling. The shop gave me $950 for it, and then sold it for $1050. So I'd say $800 is a good deal.
