Identifying and old open back (1880’s/90’s~)

Just got this old open back and the seller says it’s from around the 1880’s/90’s. Neck may or may not be stock, and the tuners aren’t all original. Claims it’s a Buckbee, but I don’t know about that. Either way, only ran me $250 so even if it isn’t all genuine or antique, still a fair price for a banjo!

That looks like a Buckbee or something similar. The friction pegs were likely added later, and it looks like the rectangular peghead was carved by a previous owner.
