One of my favorite old time string bands was The Reeltime Travelers, which, sadly, disbanded a few years back. Their second album is readily available, but their first one is very hard to find. Anybody know of one for sale?
Also: are the musicians who comprised that group still performing? They were all very good. The banjo player did some very nice clawhammer.
Thanks for your help.
I found a couple of concert recordings on Sugarmegs years ago. I need to listen to them more again like I used to.
Hear hear, that band was awesome. Unfortunately they have very little online content available. Have you seen Cold Mountain? They did parts of the soundtrack for that movie, alongside Stuart Duncan
I was fortunate enough to watch them play in a church in Bozeman. The church was just used as the venue, nothing to do with religion. The concert was sponsored by the Bozeman Folklore Society. Reeltime Travelers were outstanding :-). One of the members, I later learned, worked on a ranch in Montana as a summer job training horses (maybe longer too, can't remember). I had one of their band's stickers on my car for years, but it finally weathered away. Wish they were still playing together.
