After a small fortune in failed pieces we were recently able to crack the code on making custom colored buttons. Still have a ways to go and experimentation with better formulas and colors but getting close.

Hoping to pursue the gumdrop buttons as soon as I can get a good sample for measurements.

Question: does anyone in banjo-world have a gumdrop button they could loan for a few days? I know they are like gold, but I would return it in original condition! I could send a set of custom buttons for your trouble once we get the show on the road.

Have you checked out Boyd instruments?

I did. They have a nice selection, not quite what I’m looking for. Hoping to find one of the big butterscotch or swirls similar to what Ron Barnes used to produce. Thanks!

I'm not quite sure what you are referring to as a "gumdrop" button. Is it a specific shape, or color?

Dan, this is what I was thinking... I believe I found a source too. I think gumdrop is sort of a nickname for them. I like that look

I used to have some gumdrop buttons, but I gave all of them out last Halloween.

Unless I am mistaken, I recall a post from about a month or 6 weeks back, that someone was saying, "now producing amber buttons / like what Ronnie Barnes had made"...... was I seeing things? I recall thinking, well if those take off or ARE in fact very good, or close to what Ronnie had been making, for sure we'll hear more about them.... and if not, then they may drop off the radar.... but I simply do NOT remember who posted that thread. And I also don't recall any follow up discussion on the thread. You folks help me out here. Companion Banjo, are YOU the guy who posted that thread / topic?

Someone claimed that production would start 5/2 . I ordered some & was put on the list . Haven’t heard anything since.

It wasn't me that posted... I had heard about the Patterson buttons too. Haven't heard anything since.  We are not taking orders yet.  Once we get the templates setup right and can advertise a good product, we will go ahead with it.
Thanks
Chris

I would cry foul, but no foul and no harm. SOMEONE may just want to let Patterson know that in addition to Facebook, they just "might" also want to keep the thought alive about the buttons HERE, where the discussion belongs.
