I have no idea how banjo competition works. I'm never going to go to California - unless I can find a low carbon route. But because of the recent climatic similarity between North Wales UK and California I thought I'd enter the Welsh language category for singing.
Rhaid i chi fod ynddo i'w ennill!
You have to be in it to win it!
But anywhere in the top 10 Welsh songs will do.
There are 3 verses, but competition time only gave room for 1 verse.
And - in lock down I painted the outside of the house. Looks nice huh? Any points for a nicely painted house?
Nice tune. The paint job looks good.
Da iawn chi!
If you’ll bite the bullet and make the trip to California you could lay over in Oklahoma a while. I need to get my place painted and the hay put up and since my nearest neighbors are half-mile away social distancing is not an issue. Seriously I really enjoy your postings. Keep up the good work stay healthy.
Thanks for comments @jeff_barlow (pliolite masonry paint, ultra waterproof, has to cope with heavy rain in 70mph winds coming off the mountains...)
Diolch yn fawr iawn @PeterO!
And I'll probably be out of a job soon @j-byrd, so thanks for the nice comments and the job offer! Where you are I guess you occasionally have winds a bit stronger? I've had plenty of practice though!
High winds and tornadoes are a big factor here. We’re on the southern high plains here about 30 miles south of the Kansas Oklahoma state line. It’s kind of the middle of no where.
Update with results:
My entry got second prize in the intermediate banjo! Woohoo! I've never been to a banjo contest or festival, I've never played a banjo in public to be honest.
I'm over the moon!
