Nice looking banjo Paul, but is it a Stewart? It is a late model as it has a three octave scale but
I have never seen that particular heel carving on a Stewart. Actually, I like the carving better than most any Stewart carving that I hsave seen.

I am with Joe on this (no surprise). I don’t think it was made by any form of the SSS company. It could be a Lange. We have a Lange that has a very similar neck only with classic Lange inlays.

Gentlemen, I bow in your general direction (always East) for sharing your expertise. YOU ARE BOTH RIGHT-the heel carving and peghead inlays do not match a couple of Special Thoroughbreds I have (shoulda looked earlier). I will change the listing title and verbiage. My face is red.
