Do any of you plan on attending festivals this summer? Many have been cancelled. Pickin in Parsons in WV has not announced a cancellation, so we are hoping to attend, but all others that we go to are cancelled.

Are you going to any festivals?

All festivals in these parts have been cancelled. If they were still on, I wouldn't go.

One of my favorite local events is held in early September. They’re taking reservations but with assurances that any monies will be refunded if the cancel.

I’m debating whether to sign up or not. I am still not comfortable with the idea of a close gathering of folks from all over.

Pickin in Parsons is still happening, early August.  So far, that's the only one that is happening that we normally attend.

Too scared to go. :( If my grandad were alive, he would just say 'Let's go' and we would have gone. I miss him. He was an wonderful man - someone who was interested in all things music - theory, practice, instruments, materials, math aspects (geometric sequences in the real world), physics of strings, art on instruments, puzzles etc. Most of what I know in music is thanks to him. Can't wait for this epidemic to calm down and have everything back to normal.

The Podunk Festival in Connecticut, in early August, has been canceled, and IBMA will be a virtual event.

http://www.fiddlersdream.org please read the post in this section about our Thursday night open stage in zoom.com   We are all volunteer and non profit and we are making money during lockdown

the Prescott Bluegrass Festival at Sharlot Hall was held this past weekend .  I am impressed to tell you about the tiny coffins of the few survivors, they had to use a dustpan to sweep them up after the waste was squeezed from them, tiny pile it was

i was very sorry to see people venture out at all

Bluegrass is alive and well for now

Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield Kansas is postponed until 2021 (they were scheduled for mid september).

They did send me a very nice letter letting me know that my 4 day ticket & entry into a national contest would be honored in 2021.

Also the Priceless Festival cancelled in 2020 for 4th of July weekend--but is anticipating a return in 2021.

Best banjo wishes,
