So, with touring at a standstill and very little coming in, it is indeed time to thin my collection and get this banjo to a better home. I have loved it for years but do have a couple that I play more. So, lets talk and see what it takes.

This is one of the early Vega-Deering Tubaphone style banjos and I have enjoyed playing it for many years. It is still the older 26 1/4" scale. (NOT the 27+ which I have NO idea why they went to).

Scooped neck and skin head.

If the price is the issue, let's talk.

Nice. You are right about the longer scale ones. I played one and it was hard. But it sounded excellent.

Yep, each time I play it I'm not sure I should sell it. Sounds really good with a real skin on it. In some comparisons to a larger pot tubaphone (my 11 11/16" from 1916 with Enoch neck) over the years it stands up very well. Depth, tone and clean.
