I am out on a remote location on a job. I am not brave enough to post pics of what I am eating. But, looks like you got it covered. brad

Crab cakes (that actually are mostly comprised of crab rather than "filler") and fresh asparagus!

Bunch of 16-20 prawns done up like I have not yet decided.
Handfuls of little pan potato-fries. Salad thing, I guess.

I bought a little deep fryer. Hope to get moving on a snootful of crab rangoons.

Last night loaded, tonight stuffed! LOL!

I went out & foraged a fresh loaf of European dark rye bread, corned beef & Swiss cheese.

The cheapest sauerkraut (in the biggest biggest jar) was made in Poland. I figure they know their Krauts!

I have all the stuff to make Russian dressing instead of wimping out & using Thousand Islands (even if I'm from there). Cooked in the cast iron.   Ruuueeeebeeeeeennnnn. Bring your love to town.

I just made the Russian Dressing. Instead of onions I used fresh chives from the garden!

TIME
10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

    • 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
    • 1 cup purchased or homemade mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup ketchup-style chili sauce or ketchup
    • 4 teaspoons bottled (regular; not packed in beet juice) horseradish, or to taste
    • 1 teaspoon hot sauce, preferably Frank's Red Hot Sauce
    • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika
    • Fine sea salt
    • Horseradish in beet juice? Yuck!

the recipe I use for Russian is identical sans the last 3 ingredients and it is delicious. Especially good on a reuben or a rachel.

Prawns. That bag was 400g, close to 14 oz. 16-20, I guess I had 20 for sure. $13.99, my grocery bill says.
I cooked, peeled and ate them all with peanut soy sauce and faker seafood sauce (Australian trick.)
Boiled in lime water and cooled in a basket. Heidi-cat got a few clean chunks.

If I find salsa in the back of the fridge, gonna be a big mess of lime chicken with baked potatoes.
It spits like hello in the pan, a spatter screen is just for looks.

I made some really bad pork ribs.
It was a new recipe with a rub. My sister made them and loved them
I hated them and threw them away.

I learned about acorn squash in my late teens. Chop one in half & scoop out the seeds.

Put a gob not a knob of butter & a splash of maple syrup in there,

Salt & pepper. That's it. Eat it right out of it's shell.

Like Hallowe'en pumpkin, roasted on a sheet as slabs =
Score deeply. rub with butter, heavy brown sugar and heavy cinnamon. Bake at 350F. Eat it up.

THERE WAS SALSA!!!!!
Thawed chicken.

Goop. Make lots and lots of it, I double+ this.

1/2C salsa, as hot as you need.
1/4C Dijon mustard the cooking will dumb it down.
1 tbsp lime juice NO MORE or it's too sour to eat.
Marinate chicken for 30+ minutes.

Fry in olive oil, it spatters all over your whole kitchen. Not even 2 spatter screens is enough.

White wine to loosen the pan, add all the marinade dregs and cook well.
Plate chicken and pour goop over.

Scrounging around the fridge and pantry tonight I'm finding some chicken tenders, a big onion, two bell peppers, and a bag of carrots. A half bag of rice. Hmm, that is beginning to sound like a stir fry. It won't be worth a photo but I'll bet that it tastes pretty good.

Dumped a pound of Great Northern beans in a bowl to soak last night then with a lot of chopping this morning, onions, carrots, ham steaks, etc.. and some spices (don't ask what, depended on what was in the cabinet) it all went into the slow cooker and we went outside to spend the day on yard and garden chores.
Bean and ham soup was great tonight.
