Hi folks! Take note of this scheduling change: I'm moving my "Banjo in America - at Home!" concert to Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. Mountain Time (9 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Pacific). This concert features over 250 years of banjo music played on a variety of historical instruments and a good time is guaranteed for all!

My Sunday, April 19 "Bluegrass Trio Harmony Singing Crash Course" workshop at noon Mountain Time (2 p.m. Eastern, 11 a.m. Pacific)  with my wife Babi and daughter Corey (it’s the debut of the Evans Family Singers!) is still on! Come sing along with us on Sunday and learn all about what’s unique about bluegrass harmony singing.

You can view both events by heading over once again to my personal Facebook page:

While both upcoming events are free, your donations once again are gratefully accepted. 25% of all proceeds from both of these events will be donated to the Walker Creek Music Camp (, a wonderful California camp with non-profit status where I've taught for many years. This coming weekend would have been the weekend of this event, but like all other spring and now summer camps, Walker Creek has been cancelled.

You can make a donation via PayPal at You can also access my PayPal account using my email at

I’ll be back with another online Facebook Live workshop on Saturday, May 2, so stay tuned for the topic and the time! Thanks for your support and friendship and I’ll see you soon.

Here's more info on "The Banjo in America":

With The Banjo in America, Bill performs music from his chart-topping CDs but also much more: he takes the listener on a musical adventure, following the banjo from its West African roots to the New World, performing musical examples from the 1700’s to the present day on vintage instruments. From an 18th century African dance tune to the music of the Civil War, and from early 20th century ragtime to folk and bluegrass banjo styles to Bill’s own original music and arrangements, The Banjo in America illuminates as well as entertains, exposing audiences to over 250 years of musical traditions.

Bill has presented The Banjo in America throughout the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom and Japan, performing with the San Francisco Symphony, on "A Prairie Home Companion" and The Woodsongs Radio Hour and as an artist-in-residence at many universities, including the Berklee College of Music. He has taught at San Francisco State University, the University of Virginia and Duke University and he is the former associate director of the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky. He lives in Alto, New Mexico with his wife Babi, who is a speech therapist in Carrizozo and Hondo schools. He has performed with Dry Branch Fire Squad, Jody Stecher, Peter Rowan, David Bromberg, Tony Trischka, Alan Munde, Kathy Kallick and David Grisman, among many others.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I'm self-quarantining from Facebook. I think the last live workshop was posted to youtube, so hopefully I can watch it there. But I'm looking forward to it. These workshops are great!

Here's the link to the YouTube version of the entire Up The Neck Scruggs Back-up Workshop: I think that because of it's length, YouTube wasn't able to save the video at a higher resolution. But it's still good enough, I hope, to get a lot from this workshop. I hope you enjoy!

All the best,
