They're going overboard with this super-moon stuff. It's one third of the moons this year. A super-moon should be rare, perhaps the name could be less fabulous, such as: large-moon, or maybe pretty big-moon...but super-moon sounds a bit much given the relatively common occurrence of them. I imagine some little guy with "product" in his hair and very stylish clothing saying ssssssuuuper-moon! in an overly happy voice.

Ha! Ha! the last one was the Worm Moon! I watch the night sky.

I watch the tides here too. We lost some local boys here when the Sooke River overflowed its banks.

I'm a worm friendly gardener & I move them around to help me.

Something went terribly wrong here today. It isn't raining and there isn't a cloud in the sky. It looks like it just arrived but it is orange. Its suppose to be pink later on [maybe].

I got a look at this so-called super moon last night. Just looked like a real bright moon to me, yellow, not pink, not any bigger than usual. Maybe it's just in certain parts of the country that it looks pink to some.

I woke up at about 01:30 (fell asleep on the sofa) and as I was heading for bed I was amazed how right it was outside. I nipped out and it was like early evening and the birds, especially curlews were going mad - very spooky.

We saw it from the living room window. It looked pretty usual normal from here. Shrug.

Some time back one of my brothers went thru a "super" phase.  "You can borrow the tractor tomorrow."  "Super."   "I finished my income tax last week."  "Super."  "I talked to [our brother] John on the phone last week."  "Super."   I think he's grown out of it.... maybe the dudes that are in charge of the moon will eventually grow out of it????   ...or maybe it's just another thing that's "awesome."

I think you need to see it just as it rises over the horizon. We caught it last night, orange and Huge, with just a narrow crescent above the mountains to the east of us, almost scary, or so it seemed. As the moon rises higher above the land, it's harder to compare it to the moon you "usually" see. At 12 o'clock high, it looked about the same as regular, though with the clear cold sky, the details were more apparent than I remember normally seeing (all this naked eye). Up high it was the normal white/silver color.

It’s called “pink” because of the flowers that typically bloom this time of year, not the color of the moon itself.

If you’re out pre-dawn, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter are lined up in the eastern sky.
