My new banjo is an open back with an 11" pot. The total length of the instrument is only 33" and the depth is less than 3". Does anyone know of a quality gig bag that will be a good, snug fit for an a-scale banjo without a resonator? Thanks!

I keep an almost identical instrument in a Superior II gig bag, model 267t, available from Bob Smakula for $35, plus shipping. It’s worked well for me. Might bear checking out on Bob’s website. (I’ve no interest in Smakula Fretted instrument’s, save as a satisfied customer.)

I keep my Reiter Regent Ab scale (36" overall length) in a Boulder Alpine gigbag. It has thicker padding than the Superior gigbag I have. I have been very satisfied with it. Smakula Fretted Instruments has the Alpine bag ($70) as well as the Superior bag. Bob can also give you good guidance about which gigbag may work best for you.

Both are good suggestions and are available from any Saga dealer on the BHO. I have a Superior 267T in stock if Bob does not. I’d want to verify the 33” length first to make sure it fits The bag.

The Alpine bag is available for a regular scale only but it does have thicker padding than the Superior bag.

Thanks for the recomendations! Looks like Bob has good prices and is closer to me geographically than Mike. Cheers.
