Heard today that Eddy is doing better. He is still in the ICU but they have turned down his oxygen as he is getting stronger. He had infection from a reaction to an antibiotic and this has been a real issue but is clearing up.
I heard that Ruth is doing much better today as she is in isolation at home, not coughing as much and a much stronger voice today than when I talked to her yesterday. She finally had a good sleep. While Eddy is still not out of danger, all his vital signs seem to be improving. Hope this makes you all feel relieved somewhat as it has certainly made my day much better.
Keep on pickin’ and grinnin’
Wow this is awesome news. Thank you so much for the updates.
Thank you for this update! I remain hopeful for his quick recovery.
Thanks for the update Ernie...much appreciated!
Prayers and positive thoughts for Eddy and all dealing with this virus!
I hope the news keeps getting better for both Eddie and Ruth, I have never met either of them, but Eddie has been such a goldmine of musical knowledge and an inspiration to me and many banjo players. Continued prayers and well wishes for them and the others. Thanks for this update, it means a lot.

Thanks for keeping us updated - yes, let's hope there is more good news and Eddy will soon be back home and make a full recovery. We miss him.
Thanks for the update. Hopefully things keep trending positively.
Glad to hear this, Eddie, and we look forward to you coming back to hang out with us again soon...
Great news! He is in my prayers (also his wife), even though I only know him from seeing his videos and posts on Banjo Hangout.

That is devastating news. Eddy’s music has been the sound track of my life for the past five years. He will be sorely missed.
Awful news. Eddy was a master and a true banjo great. My heart goes out to Ruth and his family. A devastating loss to this great community and the musical world at large.
Eddy was the first person I heard make the banjo sound beautiful and he'll always remain my biggest influence.
Hoping he's on his way to a great gig in the sky!
Here's to you Eddy!
Eddy is the reason I got into playing the banjo. His youtube videos helped me so much. I'm very sad to hear he's gone. I'll miss his happy attitude and smile!
This is so sad. Eddy really showed the possibilities of the tenor. He was a wonderful teacher; I loved those YouTube videos he put up.
Condolences to all his friends and family. The world is poorer now that his music has been stilled.
I'm certain that the moderator will archive this thread now due to the latest and final update on Eddy Davis. So sorry everyone.
