Jim Muller wrote this peaceful tune in the early days of Southern Rail. I used to play it on a regular banjo with a bridge mute, but this instrument serves the tune much better. It's designed and built by Nikos Apollonio of Rockport, Maine, who has been building guitars of this design since the 1960s. Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary wrote "The Wedding Song" on one, for Peter Yarrow's wedding. I play the instrument at home when I want a break from the sound of a banjo, but I've never recorded anything on it before.
Beautiful tune and well played! I would love to own an instrument like that.
