Hi all,

I'm on week 4 of teleworking and my coworkers started sharing collections so we feel connected.

Well, I took a photo of my Tsumura Collection collection and it's the first time I've update the photo in a long time. I have all of the books, the CDs I could find, and records. Also the 124 Peghead Beauties art, the playing cards, two photos from Akira Tsumura, some publications about the collection and photos from his friend.

Based on what you can see in the photo, does anyone know anything I'm missing (besides actual Tsumura banjos)?

Ryan
I have no idea regarding your question but THAT is one impressive display! I enjoyed seeing that all in one location.

All the best.

I have an SS Stewart Banjo Banjeaurine that was in the collection. It's on page 221 in Tsumura's 1001 banjos book. You can check it out on the banjo page of my website.

I only have the basics. 4 books and a package of playing cards.

Is the fainting couch for your spouse's use when they find out how much some of those books cost?

I don’t own any literature, but I do own an S.S.Stewart Special Thoroughbred from the Tsumura Collection.
It appears on page 215.
I would love a copy of 1001 Banjos someday.
That’s a nice collection you have!

I have a 1895 S.S. Stewart 6 string (low bass) banjo purchased a number of years ago from John Bernunzio that I believe was part of the collection. I no longer have the "big book" to verify tbis.

That is an impressive collection. I’m sure it took a lot of effort and hunting to compose that.

Used to have the big book, now all I have is a couple of packs of playing cards.

No idea if it is complete, but if you find out it’s not, good luck on the hunt to complete it The hunt is half the fun of collecting.

Thanks for the photo. It would be nice if you could perhaps put up a closeup photo of the main items. Would love to see if the cards you have are the same set it have.

Akira used to send out very fancy Christmas cards with photos of his family posed with some of his banjos. I sold him a number of banjos and lots of ephemera over the years but never bought anything from him. I doubt that his collection could ever be repeated.

I'll do that.  Each box has two decks of cards.  One box has peg heads (same pegheads but different backs to the cards) and the other has I believe, one deck of S.S. Stewarts and another deck of maybe Bacon and Days?

Here are the decks. The teal box "BanjoCard" had two decks, but same images (pegheads). The brown box "Banjo Cards 2" had two decks. The green images are open-back banjos and the red images are S.S. Stewarts.

I don’t have one, but if anyone out there happens to have one of those Tsumura Christmas cards laying around they could care less about, it would be great if they could offer it to Ryan for the sake of having a complete collection.

BanjoWilly22 - Absolutely stand up move!!
