I have a banjo coming into my possession that seems to be a no name import with a gold colored crown logo on the head stock. I would love to know if that logo is associated with any known brands and about what year it was manufactured. I know its likely not a very nice instrument, but it should make a fun little project to work on.

Well, as you know, that’s a low-end Asian import. The known U.S. makers generally did not bring those in. The crown logo most likely belongs to a U.S. wholesale distributor; it could easily be a name or other design, as these banjos were mass-produced and the makers would put whatever the importer wanted on the peghead.
