Thanks Gregory! My link worked last night? I thought it would be cool if we posted some local web cams.

Gregory, When I moved in with my wife in 2002 she had just bought a computer. She showed me how to surf & send an Email. That's how I found the B.H.O.! I lurked for a long time until she convinced me to join. I didn't trust this(Internet) from the start.

When I first found web cams they had them in zoos & big aquariums & at intersections of major cities.

There was one website of a guy in Florida that had a bubble machine in his backyard. You log in & use your space bar (I think) to make the bubbles come out! He asked that you didn't play too long or waste bubbles if it was too windy. I signed in a few times & had a turn. I even saw the guy re filling it!

I watched a street corner in New Orleans before & saw a couple of deals go down there!

The local cable company in my hometown had a 24/7 T.V. channel with a camera trained on a big fountain out front of city hall. Guys would dump laundry soap in it or line up & moon the camera just to get on T.V.!

We could use that quake cam out here! We have a busted mantle clock that chimes when we have a shaker.

Our family has been tuning in to this Crane Cam around sunset most days these past few weeks. It’s in Nebraska.

The one thing I really miss about Nebraska.  The Sandhill Crane migration with over 600,000 birds.   And the Platte River in central Nebraska is their stomping grounds.  They love to roost on sandbars in the Platte River and then migrate to the corn fields to "graze".  I lived in Lexington, NE for 35 years and always enjoyed migration time.  I love their calling to each other.

We get a few stragglers here in north central Wyoming but they're always really high.  My wife can hear them trilling to each other but I can't.

My wife was watching one of these eagle cams a few years ago, but got too sad. One of the eggs didn't hatch at all (the net folk named it Dudley) and the chick that did hatch died of a virus a couple of weeks after it hatched.

KatB... you might just have saved me some do-rey-me... at least for now.  We get a few sandhill cranes nesting around here in west-central MB, and I always enjoyed seeing them around our farm, even though it wasn't often.  For some time now ads for Kearney, NE [and the 600,000 cranes that migrate through] have been popping up on my Facebook feed.  Typically, I half-jokingly say to my wife, something like: "Wanna go to Kearney and see some cranes."   So far her responses have been decidedly non-committal.  Now, I can procrastinate [one of my specialties] for a year.  Thanks, I like the website.  yes

When i lived in southern Alberta I used to fish on a lake with Brown Pelican breeding areas,

It's something else when a flock goes over & you can hear the wind in their wings!

I can hear when ravens & crows have missing wingtip feathers.
